Fanachu Famalåo'an: Women's Rising

October 20, 2023

Guåhan Sustainable Culture (GSC) recently joined the Guam Women’s Chamber of Commerce’s annual leadership summit event, Fanachu Famalåo’an: Women Rising. Fanachu Famalåo’an is an empowering reminder of the wisdom and  accomplishments of Guam’s women.

GSC proudly stood as a vendor among other women-owned businesses as we promoted and sold our local sustainable products. We also provided a free transplanting activity for attendees where they chose to transplant either cowpeas, squash, eggplant, or wing beans. The attendees enjoyed picking their seedlings, filling their cups with soil, and watering their plants. They then took their plants to care for at home.

GSC is proud to be a non-profit organization founded by women, and we hope to encourage other women to start their own sustainable gardens and strive for food sovereignty on our island. Biba famalåo’an!
